In 2014 Russian Federation under rule of its President Vladimir Putin occupied some parts of the territory of Ukraine - the Crimea and eastern Ukraine including large cities of Donetsk and Luhansk.
Ukrainian Army was not effective enough in March 2014 to resist the occupation of the Crimea. Besides, Ukraine's security is ensured by 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances signed by Russian Federation, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, China, and France. In April 2014 when occupation of eastern Ukraine started, ATO Anti-Terrorist Operation was declared by the Ukrainian Government. Since then Ukraine is de facto at war with Russia. In spite of evidence of Russian presence (detained Russian soldiers, latest Russian weapons and military equipment directly from the factories), Russia denies its involvement.
Moreover, Russia brought to life new kind of war - hybrid war. It accounts for wide use of mass-media to create myths and to form public opinion. Even today many journalists avoid using term "war", calling it "conflict". Be aware! Do not fall under Russian propaganda influence! Never watch "Russia Today" TV-channel! Otherwise KGB methods of brainwashing will be applied to you.

Generally, 50,000 Ukrainian soldiers are holding front line every day. Although Minsk Agreements were signed to stop bloodshed and SMM OSCE was sent to monitor the situation, Russian forces and Russia-backed terrorists are shelling and assaulting positions of the Ukrainian Army as well as civilian population on the daily basis.
Ukrainian soldiers are killed every day. Dozens of them are wounded every day.
